Two of my poems dealing with the aftermath of the New Years Eve fire have been published in Volume 17 of F*EMS Zine in September 2020.
'Lightview' is the name of my family property, which would have burnt in a firestorm on New Years Eve, but my dad defended it. The poem is about what home looked like afterwards, and how the world around it hadn't just changed, but it continued to change every day.
'Glass Shore' is an ode to the beaches that sheltered my community during the fires, and which were layered with ash for months afterwards.
